Yes. Tenon takes no payment to start. The homepage mockup is free, and the first $279 is charged only when the design is approved and the plan begins. There is no deposit and no setup fee.
What does $279 a month include?
The $279 a month covers a website with one page for every service, an AI assistant that answers the calls the contractor cannot take and emails the details through, a review request after every job, 50 tap-to-review cards, a chat trained on the services and the service area, Google Business Profile and local SEO for the towns covered, hosting with SSL and daily backups, and edits handled for the contractor.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
There is no minimum term. The plan runs month to month and can be cancelled at any time. Ownership of the website transfers at month 12.
What happens at month 12?
At month 12 the website, the domain and all of the content become the contractor's property. The follow-up system can keep running for $129 a month, or the system can be stopped and the website kept.
What if I cancel before month 12?
Payment stops, and the website does not transfer, because the transfer happens at month 12. Talk to Tenon before cancelling and Tenon will agree the fairest hand-over.
Why is the answering monthly if I can buy the website outright?
A website is a finished thing, and a finished website costs nothing to keep once built. Call answering is not finished, because every answered call runs over a real phone line and real call minutes, and both of those bill every month, the same way a phone bill does.
Does the plan include text messaging?
Automated text messaging is not part of the plan today and is not part of the $279. Sending automated texts from a US business number requires carrier registration under a registered business, which is an approval process rather than a setting, so Tenon promises no date for it. The website, the call answering, the review requests and the chat all run from launch.
Do I own the domain name?
Yes. The domain is registered in the business owner's name from the start. At month 12 the website and all of its content transfer as well.
