Tenon is the trading name of Zachary Aqqua and Younes Berlamani, two individuals working together. There is no registered company behind it, no limited liability entity and no shareholders. When this page says “we”, it means those two people, and we are the ones responsible for your information.

There is one reason, and it is the one you would expect. You asked for a free mockup of your homepage. We need your business name, your trade, your city and your website to design it, and we need an email address or a phone number to send it to you and to ask you questions while we work.

If you are in Europe or the UK and want the legal wording: we handle your details because you asked us to take steps before entering into a contract with you, and because we have a genuine interest in answering someone who has written to us. We are not relying on consent, so there is no consent box to tick and nothing you need to withdraw. If you would rather we did not hold your details at all, say so and we delete them.

The form has two quiet checks. There is a hidden field that you will never see and never fill in, and the form notes the moment it loaded and rejects anything sent within three seconds of that. A person takes longer than three seconds to fill in seven boxes. A script does not.

Both of those run on our own server. We use them instead of a CAPTCHA on purpose: a CAPTCHA would mean sending something about you to a third party and asking you to solve a puzzle, on a form that exists to make your life easier. If one of the checks stops your submission by mistake, email [email protected] and we will pick it up by hand.

We work from Morocco. If you write to us from Europe or the UK, your details are read by us in Morocco and stored with the three United States suppliers listed above. So your information leaves the country you sent it from.

We are telling you that plainly rather than pointing at a transfer mechanism we have not put in place. There are no standard contractual clauses signed with you, and Tenon is not certified under any data framework. If that is a problem for your business, do not send the form: email us instead and tell us what you need, or simply do not share anything you would not want held this way.

We keep your enquiry for 24 months after the last contact between us, then delete it: the row in the sheet and the notification email both go. 24 months is long enough that someone who comes back after thinking about it for a year does not have to start again, and short enough that we are not sitting on a list of strangers.

You do not have to wait. Email [email protected] and ask us to delete your details, and we will do it and confirm when it is done.

California law gives you the right to know what personal information a business has collected about you, the right to have it deleted, and the right to opt out of it being sold or shared. The first two are the same rights we offer everyone above, at the same address, with the same 30 day reply.

The third needs no action from you, because there is nothing to opt out of. Tenon does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done so. We also run no financial incentive programme, so nobody is offered a discount in exchange for their data and nobody is charged more for asking us to delete it.
